A Leaf For Hand In Hand
Yuko Shiraishi — 2026
Yuko Shiraishi’s latest outdoor project continues her ongoing series exploring counterpoint – the relationship of sounds very different from one another, independent rhythm and contour, that played together are harmonious. Her previous works in this series, Missing Link (2010) and Point Counterpoint (2013), were both inspired by the writings of Aldous Huxley, who drew on Bach’s use of counterpoint in music. This new work – with bells hung from branches by the human hand – reflects on Walt Whitman and his inner worlds of nature and humanity.
